- Howdee,
- We recently joined the System 7 world, and don't find it to be any
- improvement, yet. It is slow, it is a hog, and it cripples some of the file
- manouvering that was simple under System 6.x. Some of the Macs on the
- Novell Netware server under the 3.01 NLM are small Macs: 2 Mbytes of
- memory, 80 Mbytes hard disc. We are finding that it is a requirement to put
- System 7 in these lil' guys, for compatibility of work among the group
- under various applications. That is, lil' Mac under 6.0.8 can't do a thing
- with the work on the floppy that was recorded on the big Mac under System 7
- and the release of the application for System 7. Might I transmit this work
- via the internet from big Mac to the lil' Mac, and avoid the
- incompatibility problems between application editions? Loading System 7
- into the lil' Macs seems burdensome, since the big Macs (16 Mbytes Ram and
- 80 Mbytes hard) disc slowed down to a mere trot from the run they were
- doing before the System 7 installation. What is the recommended minimum
- environment for upgrading the lil' Macs to System 7 compliance?
- Thanks, and have a happy day...
