- If you've read my "what's the scoop" post, then I should
- clarify one point...
-
- If I telnet to the NeXT when it's at the login screen, I can't
- "see" the external drives after logging in. This is typically the
- situation in the evening when I'm dialing in from home to one of the
- computing centre's Suns and then telnetting to the NeXT.
-
- But if I'm already logged in at the keyboard (and see the
- external drive icons on the browser shelf), then I _can_ "see" the
- external drives when I telnet to the NeXT.
-
- So it's like there's something different about the way the
- system mounts drives when logging in at the keyboard versus logging in
- via telnet...
-
- Thanks again for any suggestions. (Sorry for being so
- long-winded. I'm sort of thinking this through as I write, which is
- perhaps not the best approach...!)
-
- Michael.
