  12.     If you've read my "what's the scoop" post, then I should
  13. clarify one point...
  14.  
  15.     If I telnet to the NeXT when it's at the login screen, I can't
  16. "see" the external drives after logging in. This is typically the
  17. situation in the evening when I'm dialing in from home to one of the
  18. computing centre's Suns and then telnetting to the NeXT.
  19.  
  20.     But if I'm already logged in at the keyboard (and see the
  21. external drive icons on the browser shelf), then I _can_ "see" the
  22. external drives when I telnet to the NeXT.

  24.     So it's like there's something different about the way the
  25. system mounts drives when logging in at the keyboard versus logging in
  26. via telnet...

  28.     Thanks again for any suggestions. (Sorry for being so
  29. long-winded. I'm sort of thinking this through as I write, which is
  30. perhaps not the best approach...!)
