- Greetings,
-
- I'm having a problem with sending mail. I use a machine that is not the
- mail server, and it's using the standard sendmail.subsidiary.cf file
- (with our uucp sites in it). When I send mail from this machine, my
- from: address looks like machine_name!brian@chromagrafx.com. This
- causes some confusion among repliers... they get error messages that
- look like:
-
- ----- Transcript of session follows -----
- 554 chroma!brian... Never heard of UUCP host chroma
-
- (chroma is a non-mail-server machine)
-
- I'd like to find a way around this problem. I've tried just setting the
- reply-to field to brian@chromagrafx.com, but I've found that not all
- mail apps use this. What I'd really like to do is force whatever comes
- out to be name@chromagrafx.com, but I'm not that good at hacking the
- sendmail.cf file.
-
- Any suggestions?
-
- Thanks,
- Brian
