- I have a NeXTstation (running 2.2) in my office and also an account
- on one of the computing centre's Suns.
-
- When I telnet from the Sun to my NeXT, I run into terminal emulation
- problems. For example, 'ls -al' produces the following display...
-
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------
- % ls -al
- total 3
- drwxr-xr-x 3 me 1024 Jun 11 01:30 .
- drwxr-xr-x 3 me
- 10
- 24 Jun 9 23:40 ..
- drwxr-xr-x 2 root 1024 Jun 10 15:46 .NeXT
- %
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- It looks to me like the newline function is not working properly.
-
- I should add that this seems to only happen in line mode when I'm
- telnetting from the Sun to the NeXT. When I run full-screen commands
- like emacs, everything's fine. When I run Terminal on the NeXT,
- everything's fine. When I telnet to the NeXT from my Mac everything's
- fine.
-
- What's puzzling is that I've been telnetting from the Sun to other
- machines for a long time and I've NEVER observed this before -- so it
- makes me think the problem lies with the NeXT.
-
- I'd be very grateful for any suggestions here. (My only access to
- the NeXT from home is by dialing up the Sun and then telnetting -- so
- I'm really needing to solve this problem.)
-
- Thanks.
-
- Michael.
