  12.   I'm trying to back up my system before I install 3.0.  I jave brought
  13. my cube to work with me and added it to our network of suns.  To backup
  14. the file system I am rinning the following command:

  16.   rdump.old 0fsdu mode:/dev/nrst0 6000 54000 /dev/rsd0a

  18. The dump proceesed alright, but I cannot use the sun restore, the NeXT
  19. restore, or the NeXT restore.old to recover any files.  I am making the
  20. dump in single user mode on the NeXT.  The figures 6000 ft for the 8mm
  21. tape was aken fron the sun man page ( the estimated tape space used
  22. that dump reports makes sense with this figure ) 54000 bpi is fron
  23. NeXT's dump man page.
  24.   Any hints or clues on this?  Perhaps we should start a sysadmin FAQ, I
  25. imagine I'm not the only one with this problem.
