  14. A couple weeks ago my NeXT when down :( and corrupted my netinfo database  
  15. and wiped out some files. I rebuilt the netinfo database using niload, and  
  16. now most everything seems to work. However, when I try to view a DOS disk  
  17. under a "me" account I get the message "Floppy disk is unreadable". This  
  18. does not happen if I,m logged on as ROOT. Furthermore, I'am able as a "me"  
  19. user to use BuildDOS to format the disk; after which I get the above  
  20. mentioned message. Now I 've check the permissions in the dev directory  
  21. and they seem to be O.K. Also, I should mention that in /usr/filesystems  
  22. the directory DOS.fs exist. The second problem I have, which might  
  23. possibly be related, is that I can't get my NeXT to mount the CDROM  
  24. filesystem. I have no other devices connected to my NeXT other than the CD  
  25. player.  When I place a SUN CD in the drive the message "External disk is  
  26. unreadable" comes up and on pressing the ignore button the disk ejected.  
  27. The same thing happens if I place a music disk in. I've also tried the  
  28. CDplayer.app from sonata, with no success. The OS version I have is 2.1.
