- Hi,
-
- A couple weeks ago my NeXT when down :( and corrupted my netinfo database
- and wiped out some files. I rebuilt the netinfo database using niload, and
- now most everything seems to work. However, when I try to view a DOS disk
- under a "me" account I get the message "Floppy disk is unreadable". This
- does not happen if I,m logged on as ROOT. Furthermore, I'am able as a "me"
- user to use BuildDOS to format the disk; after which I get the above
- mentioned message. Now I 've check the permissions in the dev directory
- and they seem to be O.K. Also, I should mention that in /usr/filesystems
- the directory DOS.fs exist. The second problem I have, which might
- possibly be related, is that I can't get my NeXT to mount the CDROM
- filesystem. I have no other devices connected to my NeXT other than the CD
- player. When I place a SUN CD in the drive the message "External disk is
- unreadable" comes up and on pressing the ignore button the disk ejected.
- The same thing happens if I place a music disk in. I've also tried the
- CDplayer.app from sonata, with no success. The OS version I have is 2.1.
- Any help would be appreciated.
-
- thanx
