  12. Although I may have missed some relevant postings, I've been
  13. rather surprised by the vehement outcry for Jack Reynold's
  14. hide to be stripped because he posted a list comparing
  15. Pasteup/PageMaker/QuarkXpress features.  I thought it was
  16. *highly* useful information.

  18. The RTF aspect was clearly marked, as people have noted, so
  19. that's not the sticking point, apparently.

  21. This seems the place to say I'm on the beta list and have
  22. some first-hand experience with the product.  Since people
  23. seem keen on being judgmental, I'll say up front that I
  24. count both Glenn Reid and Jack Reynolds as friends.

  26. Jack is hardly an impartial judge, since he works for
  27. RightBrain (and he didn't hide the fact), but I have a hard
  28. time sharing the perception publishing the list was
  29. tantamount to advertising.  Would it have been if someone
  30. else had had the information and posted it, for example?  I
  31. assume people who are potentially interested in the product
  32. would be very interested in a list like that.  Indeed, I
  33. would like to see additional columns for Ventura Publisher,
  34. FrameMaker, and Interleaf Publisher.

  36. Matters between Glenn and Jack (whether posting is allowed,
  37. etc.) are for them to work out, I suppose.
