- This is a post for someone else who has no USENET access, however if
- you can shed any light on his problem, he would appreciate it. I am not
- a NeXT programmer so I can't enlighten him. If you have any suggestions,
- ideas, or solutions please respond directly to me. Here's the runtime
- error he said he has been receiving:
-
- DPS Client Library Error
- Postscript Program Error, DPS Context 84128
- %%[Error Undefined result; Offending command: bin obj seq,
- Type=128, Elements=3, size=28]%%
-
- The error was told to me verbally over the phone. If this is not exactly
- how it appears, oh well, I think enough information was conveyed to get the
- point across.
-
- I will tell you that this fellow is not a programmer by profession. He is
- not the most savvy programmer. Nor is dilegence an attribute. For example
- he mentioned that he was not aware of what manual in the documentation could
- shed some light on what the potential problem is.
-
- He stated that the code does reach his code per se, that the error occurs
- from code generated from interface tool. I conjectured that some bad pointer
- is being passed, perhaps he is not initializing something, or a variation on
- the latter (e.g. bad values being passed to some initialization code).
-
- What manual could he look at? I may not be a programmer but I noticed that
- the NeXT docs are not exactly the greatest on earth. Also there seems to be
- a dearth of books on NeXT programming. That has been one of his complaints.
- He is using it for trading purposes (futures), an area where NeXT computers
- have hit it big, i.e. in the trading profession.
-
- Any info would be appreciated.
- Thanks,
- Mario Pacheco
