  16. I recently installed SLIP from Louis Mamakos (the latest version from 
  17. sonata/incoming) and tried to run it on my new NeXTstation (OS 3.0). 
  18. When I rebooted, everything looked fine, but then, when the loginwindow 
  19. tried to come up, I got the message that it could not find a port for 
  20. the window server and it never came up! The only way out was to reboot from 
  21. a floppy and remove the entry from rc.local which had pointed to the 
  22. SLIP initialization routines.
  23. Of course, I don't have SLIP this way :-(

  26. Did anyone else try to run SLIP (rel. date 920904) on a NeXt with 3.0 OS? 
  27. Did it work for you? 
  28. Are there any tricks to make it work? 
  29. Is it all my fault?
