  22. It's very likely that the bearings inside the drive are going.  (The
  23. bearings are one of the primary causes of hard drive failure.)  It's
  24. likely that you'll need to replace the drive soon; I don't think that a
  25. computer repair store would even try to fix it.  If you're under
  26. warrenty, the drive manufacturer will probably replace the drive rather
  27. than attempting repair.

  29. I'd also suggest that you start being enthusiastic about doing system
  30. dumps.  Your disk drive is in the "armed and dangerous" category.
