- Well, thanks to C-Cube we didn't get jpeg compression of the original
- NeXTdimension, but I've been told by NeXT that something will become availble
- for the dimension to handle hardware compress. The rep wouldn't give me
- details, however, except that it will plug into the socket where the C-Cube
- chiop should have gome.

- I thought this is what the PhoneKit and ISDN Adapter from Hayes was suppose to
- do.

- You've got this on a NeXTdimension, and most people aren't will to pay the
- price for it unless they need it.

- 128MB MODs will work on a cube, assuming they're SCSI compliant. I know of
- people currently running these on NeXT's. For that matter you can also use the
- higher capacity 5.25" drives (Up to 1 Gig on a MOD).

- even would pay quite some money for it - if it works. It could support the S3
- graphics accelerator, this would be great (I think this type of cards sells
- quite well in the PeeCee market at the moment, and it supports blazing fast
- BitBlt, Draw, etc.). Maybe I would start developing with NeXTstep, because I
- know it and really admire the developing environment?
-
- NS486 should be out in a few months. I've been told (also by NeXT) that they
- planned to delay the release of NS486 to about 3 months after NS3.0 for their
- own machines. The main benefit this delay gives is that NS486 should be able to
- support a wider array of hardware, especially in the video area.
