- Gantt,
-
- I(we) have a Gateway 2000 486DX2/50 EISA (not ISA and not 66mHz) but it comes
- with 128KB direct mapped cashe. The manual shows how it can be easily
- upgraded to a 256KB two-way set associative cache system. On my system board
- you need the following:
-
- One 128K SRAM SIMM module
- Two tag SRAMs (28 ppin DIP IC)
- One LRU SRAM (28 ppin DIP IC)
-
- no setting of switches and/or jumpers.
- Again, this is for the Gateway 2000 486DX2/50 EISA using Intel's 82350
- EISA chipset.
-
- I suggest if you're gonna do something like that, wait til *your* sales
- rep returns after the holiday.
-
- Hope this helps.
