- }An MS Windows emulator for the Mac has been posted to
- }sumex-aim.stanford.edu. It's available by anonymous ftp filed as:
- }/info-mac/game/window-3.hqx
- }
- }It is not sluggish at all, and it works about as well as the real Windows
- }in my experience. You do get an error message or crash now and then.
-
- You probably should have put in smileys -- the guy did ask a serious question.
- (though you have to wonder if he seriously wants to run Windows at all ;).
- While the Windows placed on SUMEX is very well done (emulation-wise, that is),
- it's only real function is to play the minefield game.
-
- In fact, I showed the Windows emulator to a coworker (who has been learning
- to program in Windows -- he was amazed how much I already knew about the
- concepts of resources and RGB color values and such) and he kinda did a
- "Wow! That IS Windows!" Then he saw all the error messages, and I ran the
- mine game, and his comment was "Wait, that can't be Windows. You didn't get
- an error message on that."
- Well, no matter how hard someone tries to imitate something, it's never quite
- the same...
