  28. 6.0.8L is not available in the United States.  Apple will know nothing about
  29. it if you ask them, and will not distribute it in the US.  Several people
  30. on the net have said "oh yeah, I have *that*", but they have all been non-US
  31. Apple customers (there was someone from Canada, even).  The legality of FTPing
  32. 6.0.8L to someone in the US hasn't been decided by the non-lawyers on the net.

  34. ALLEGEDLY, 6.0.8 wasn't 100% debugged for use with the Classic II ROMs, and 
  35. Apple decided System 7 was what everyone wanted anyway, so the ROMs refuse to 
  36. boot with any system that isn't System 7; 6.0.8L 'pretends' to be System 7 when
  37. the ROMs do their check.  So, if you know how to hack the system...

  40. can get by with 2MB RAM?
