  41. From what I understand, Heap Fixer isn't supposed to be run with 7.0.
  42. From what I understand, the heap grows and shrinks dynamically in 7.0.

  44. Try re-installing your system software.  On an 8 meg machine, you
  45. should be able to run ResEdit!  What extensions are you running on
  46. your machine?  Things that take up lots of memory?

  48. Do "About this Macintosh."  What does it say for "Largest Unused Block?"

  50. When you say the System file is 2MB, do you mean disk size (which
  51. is virtually meaningless) or memory size?  "System Software" in the
  52. About this Macintosh window is System + Finder, by the way.

  54. Something is definitely wrong.  I'd say check for viruses, and reinstall
  55. your system software.  If ResEdit won't run, do a Get Info on it
  56. and make sure it's allocated enough memory.  Don't bother with
  57. HeapFixer.
