  12. It indeed seemed to be a stiction problem.  I took it to my friendly local
  13. Apple dealer and it * did * turn out to be fixable under warranty
  14. (yea!).  They will replace it soon.. They 'jump started' it as some suggested
  15. (I didn't wanna mess up something guessing where the right screws were
  16. to remove) and I got all my files off... I feel much better...
