- I have a question. I go to Carnegie Mellon, my sister goes to Boston
- Univ. We
- both have Macs. At CMU all I need to do to network my computer to all
- the other
- Macs on campus, as well as the printers is, buy a phonenet connector and
- another
- connector that adapts the networking extension in my room to a telephone
- wire.
- Then I go to computing services with the number on the outlet of the extension,
- as well as some other info, and they turn on my outlet.
-
- My question is, is it as simple as that to network a Mac at BU? Are there
- extensions in the dorm rooms at BU for networking? Where should I tell my
- sister to go to get the nessesary hardware, software, or anything else she may
- need?
-
- Thanks,
- kurt
