-
- I found out it was real easy to do it. I did two conversions recently. The
- internal
- drives are usually terminated. I removed those three capacitors or resistors
- and they are then unterminated.
-
- The external HD cases come with power supply, mounting screws, SCSI cable, and
- everything. You want to buy one with external termination and a SCSI address.
- I connected the power cable (it's notched and only one way to connect them,
- no fear of messing up the polarity), connect the SCSI cable (it's also
- notched).
- The LED cable is tiny with two prongs. I connect them to the corresponding two
- tiny connectors on the HD. Later on if they don't work upon power up, I
- reverse
- them and that's all. The only tricky way is the SCSI address cable. Every
- brand
- has a row of tiny connectors for that purpose. I looked thru CRU Hard Drive
- Kit Manual, Mac II Upgrade Book by Larry Pina and if your HD is a brand like
- Quantum, there usually is a picture of it on one of the above book/manual. So
- far I have been lucky in guessing it right, and it was not much work either.
-
- Hope this is helpful.
