- I'm not familiar with AccessPC. Check the documentation to see if it has
- "MacBinary" conversion capability. Also check to see if there is a mention
- of BinHex conversion capability.
-
- If you download a program from the PC in binary format, MacBinary
- conversion will restore it's Mac identity. BinHex version 5 can do this as
- well.
-
- If you download an ".hqx" file using the ASCII format, you need BinHex
- version 4 to restore it. Recent versions of Compactor and Stuffit also
- have this capability.
-
- You're right about this being an FAQ. However, no one has proposed a
- simple solution to your common problem, other than to somehow acquire a
- copy of one of the "key" programs needed to do the conversions. Once you
- get the first piece, you can download all the others.
-
- Stuffit is available as a commercial program, "Stuffit Deluxe 2.0".
- Compactor is available as "Compactor Pro". If you can't get what you need
- otherwise, you may have to buy one of these.
