- I have never had the chance to use Maple or Theorist or Mathematica but was
- once a dedicated user of SMP (predecessor to Mathematica) and Macsyma. I
- shopped for a long and hard for a mac symbolic package but price was always
- a barrier to me. Finally, AT LONG LAST, I caught wind of ALJABR which is a
- port of Macsyma to the mac. It does not have a pretty user interface but it's
- got all of the guts of the old Macsyma.
-
- I just finished a project requiring extended fp arithmetic, power series and
- integration and was absolutely amazed at what came out of my old mac+ at home
- and IIfx at work.
-
- ALJABR is definitely worth looking at.
