- I was thinking about new and nifty ways of presenting the University of
- Waterloo's Faculty of Mathematics to applicants. Since students *love*
- to read, I thought that an interactive, pictorial medium may be the best
- way to hold their attention. I have a Mac and have seen some great
- Hypercard applications, and since many high schools are equipped with
- Macs, Hypercard seems to be a reasonable choice. I do have a few
- questions, and I hope that someone in this group will help me. I'd like
- to apologize in advance if any of my questions are really stupid. ;-)
-
- 1. Is hypercard downward compatible? I have version 2.? on System 7.
-
- 2. I would hate to think that all this work would be inaccessible
- to schools that only have DOS machines. With this in mind,
- would I be able to convert it to a DOS machine? Or should I develop
- it in the DOS environment and then convert it to the Mac?
- Any suggestions?
-
- 3. Is colour a possibility? Would this affect conversions to/from DOS?
-
- 4. I read something in this newsgroup about compiling applications.
- Doesn't locking the application prevent modifications?
-
- If you think of anything that I should know, please feel free to e-mail me.
- Also, I would appreciate any recommendations for further reference.
-
- Thanks a lot!
- Karen.
