- My impression of the Performa is that it is a package tailored
- specifically for the mass-marketing environment, so you won't
- see it in computer stores or universities. What you will see
- are similar machines in "professional" rather than "consumer"
- packaging. i.e., Performa 200 -> Classic II, Performa 400 ->
- LC II, Performa 600 -> IIvx. And the price differential may
- not be as great as you expect. According to MacWeek, Apple
- will be reducing the dealer's cost on the LC II and Classic
- II by 15% and the IIsi by 20%. This will not effect list prices,
- which will stay the same, but should result in lower street prices.
