- I am having a strange problem with a Hayes 2400 wall Modem with Quick LinkII
- in a system having a Deskwriter (2.1), Mac LC, with System 7.0.1, tuned.
-
- The Deskwriter prints ordinary text files with various fonts just fine.
-
- But when I try to print a file previously created by a QL-II TTY modem session,
- I get a few lines of print then the printer bombs (red error lite on),
- the Mac locks up until it times out, and after some text the printed message
- is, "datacomm buffer overflow, no DTR handshake." I can look at the file with
- the QL-II editor and it looks just fine.
-
- It's independent of whether I select "full page" or "line at a time" from the
- print menu.
-
- Same problem occurs if I use the uSoft WORKS data comm application instead
- of QL-II. Printer acts flakey and tends to lock up system with red error
- lite coming on.
-
- If I write a script for QL-II that includes "Printer ON" I get error 1
- when the script hits that line; same error happens if I toggle the printer on
- during a QL-II tty modem session.
-
- The same application and scripts work flawlessly on a IIsi with 6.0.7, a
- Zoom Faxmodem and LJ-IIIp.
-
- What am I missing?
