- I'm trying to decide between two 24-bit video cards for a Mac IIci/
- Sony 1304 combination. I have narrowed the search to two candidates:
- E-Machines Futura SX, and Radius 24Xp (both about $500).
-
- Both cards allow on-the-fly resolution switching and provide 24-bit
- color at up to 832 x 624 resolution. The E-Machines card also has
- 1024 x 768 resolution at 8 bit, which seems to make it the more versatile
- card. The E-Machines card has pan/zoom and virtual screens, and a 16-bit
- mode. I don't know if the Radius card provides any or all of these (the
- literature they sent me is pretty sketchy).
-
- Questions: Does anyone know if either card is significantly faster?
-
- Are there other factors I should be considering?
-
- Are there other cards I should consider? (I'd like on-the-
- fly resolution switching, which 'rules out' Lapis, etc.)
-
- Please e-mail or post responses. I will summarize to the net if there's
- sufficient interest. Thanks.
