- This is the infamous Unit Attention problem (ref--tech note on Mac
- Plus ROM bugs, but this affects the Mac II as well)
- surfacing in a different way. If your drive supports disabling Unit
- Attention (try tech support, you might get lucky), do that.
- If not, you can cut the SCSI Reset line on the cable-- not
- recommended, as then drive hangs mean you have to power cycle the
- drive. A third solution that worked with my Wren was to make the
- drive internal-- apparantely the timing caused the mac to 'miss' the
- Unit Attention condition. Probably won't work with all drives.
- BTW, holding down escape will bypass the reboot cycle and bring you up
