- I am having problems setting up a Bernoulli Mac Transportable 90-Pro on a Mac
- IIsi Sys 7.0 9/80 (internal). Description follows.
-
- Connected power cord and SCSI cable (drive set as ID 5). Power to Bern--off.
- When Mac starts up, it freezes at "Welcome to Macintosh" message. Mac starts
- up fine with SCSI cable off.
-
- Then turned on Bern. (no cartridge) first -- Mac starts up OK. Put in Bern
- Utilities floppy, dragged Driver v.3.4.2 to System Folder which places it in
- Control Panels Folder. Restarted. Seemed to freeze when the Iomega icon
- appeared during startup. Removed various other cdevs and extensions to avoid
- conflicts -- same deal. Holding Shift key to not load extensions on startup --
- OK startup.
-
- I put some other cdevs back. In the unlikely case that the first loading of
- the driver is supposed to take a very long time, I restarted and saw the
- following: Iomega icon appeared first and froze. I let it sit "frozen" --
- after about 3 minutes, the rest of the cdevs icons appeared to load. Double
- clicking the icon in the control panels folder gives a message: The Iomega
- Driver control panel will not run because driver version 3.4.2 is not
- installed. I put the cartridge in anyway and it goes up to speed but nothing
- else happens.
-
- I don't know how to interpret the results, but I scanned SCSI bus with NU 2.0
- Disk Doctor it shows icons at 0 (I assume internal drive) and 5 (a diamond
- shaped icon--the Bernoulli?) and 7 (I assume the Mac). If I select SCSI 5, it
- says no partitions found (either with or without the cartridge in).
-
- The Iomega Workshop application doesn't work either.
-
- I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions. (Especially since I won't be able
- to reach their tech service until Tuesday). Thanks and have a good holiday.
