- Dear netters,
- What does the sad mac code
- 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 F
- 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 8
- mean when starting up the Mac?
-
- Its an exception (0F) with sub-code code 28;
- "Welcome to Macintosh..." startup message - error.
-
- Is it a hardware or software problem? Is there a documentation recording
- the meanings of all codes?
-
- It's probably a software problem. The system-file may be damaged so that the
- resource that contains the welcome string can't be read. It may also be a
- hardware problem with your hard disk. Can you boot from a floppy and then see
- the hard disk, then it's a software problem. Else hardware.
-
- I have put together all the information about "Sad Mac" error codes that I have
- been able to find. If it's of any interest I'll post it to the net.
