- I have a problem with my new DeskWriter. When I print long documents,
- then at some stage it will print about 1 inch of the documents, and
- thewn start printing garbage with the built in character set, only a few
- lines per page. If I print graphics, then often it will print garbage
- in the left margin (also internal font), and sometimes garbage one
- horizontal line. This will almost certainly happen if the print head has
- been resting a few seconds in its locked position.
-
- It seems to me, that this could probably be caused by a slight
- difference in the timing of the DeskWriter and my SE/30 serial speeds.
- Another explanation could be noise indiced to the cable. Now I have
- connected them to the same wall outlet, and hope that this will help.
- Neither the printer nor the Mac is grounded. I am using 7.0.1 tuneup,
- and 3.1 driver with background printing. 32-bit adressing eanabled.
- Mac IIfx ROM (so no MODE 32).
-
- Any suggestions what it could be ? Anybody with same experiences ?
