  47. I ran into the same problem and (fortunatly) found AppDisk at about the
  48. same time. It is an application instead of an extension so you can start
  49. it anytime including putting an alias in your Startup Items folder. You
  50. set the size of the disk by setting the memory size in the Get Info box.
  51. Appdisk has an autosave feature that writes the contents of the disk
  52. back into the application file every x minutes. It's a $15 shareware
  53. item from Mark Adams and it can be found at sumex.
