- Omnipage Professional is their current top of the line product. Omnipage Direct
- is a stripped down version that works from within programs like Word etc. It
- comes with some less than great scanning software. Go for the Professional
- version if you are serious. The type of scanner you have makes a big difference
- in both accuracy and speed. I recently saw a PC World (I think it was that
- magazine) review of a variety of OCR software run on a variety of scanners. The
- top performers were the HP and the Umax. Both these scanners come equiped to
- run with Macs. Unfortunately, we still dont have the right drivers to run
- Omnipage Pro with our HP Scanner, so I cant tell you how great it is. We are
- still limping along with Omnipage Direct.
