- First, I apologise if this is not the appropriate group for my
- question. Since it seems to be the only one specifically tailored to the PS/
- 2 I hope that it can be answered here (I could not find a FAQ for this
- group).
- Now to the problem; I am running a 55sx machine and trying to call
- graphics with packaged interrupt commands (for Lahey f77). According to
- Andrew Rossman's INFO+ my BIOS is IBM 1981,1988 version released 11/2/88,
- with no extensions. My active video subsystem is VGA + analog color.
- For a simple test program consisting of commands to draw a line on
- the screen my machine seems to go into some video mode, but without
- drawing to the screen, except for one particular choice of video mode in
- which it illuminates one pixel. For programs requiring characters on the
- screen it seems to be drawing some and immediately erasing them, leaving a
- blank screen. In neither case does the machine lock, it returns to DOS
- with an enter exactly as expected. All test programs work on non PS/2
- machines.
- It is probably obvious to all that I am new to ROM-BIOS and
- any help offered is appreciated (flames cheerfully accepted :-)). If the
- response is to RTFM please tell me which manual; I honestly do not know.
- Lastly please respond via e-mail, I will post a summary.
- Thanks in advance for any help.
