The serial port on the motherboard of my IBM PS2 30-286 doesn't work. When I
use a terminal emulator, I can transmit data, but the receive light of my modem
doesn't glow. Nothing appears on the screen. I have checked the cable and the
modem, wich are OK.
I have installed a serial card in a free slot. I must disable the serial port ofthe motherboard from the configuration, using Starter Diskette, to have the COM
port of the serial card to work.
When I do that, an emulation program that initiates the port using Basic
doesn't work.
Can someone tell me how to deactivate the serial port of the motherboard
without having the other one disappear for Basic? It seems that on my system,
DOS can't see COM2 from a serial card with this emulator, but can with others.
