- My problem might be different.I have 4 1MBx9 70ns 3 chip style,or 1x3 SIMMs
- on my 1 months old 486DX-33. I just got 4 1x9 80ns and I tried to plug the
- 1x9 80ns SIMMs into the the bank 1. The PC just does not recognize the
- additional 4 MB of rams. I talked to a technican from where I bought the
- system. He told me that the 70ns does not work with the 80ns SIMMs!
-
- I really suspect what he said, as I read many articles here that SIMMs
- at different speed work well, though the computer will work at the slower
- SIMMs' speed.
-
- Does anyone experience this? Or better yet, anyone like to swap his 3 chip
- 70ns SIMMs with my 9 chip 80ns SIMMs, if you could not make 3 chip simms
- work properly on your older PC?
-
- Thanks.
