- The small problem I have got with the EMM386.EXE is that it always
- hang my machine whenever CTRL-ALT plus any random key has been
- pressed. ie no warm-boot for CTRL-ALT-DEL, and no CMOS set-up menu
- for CTRL-ALT-s, nor enabling/disabling hard-cache. The whole machine
- is just dead, all with the exception of within WIN3.1.
-
- Is that suppose to happen? Hardware problem?
- or virus? (shouldn't be - I checked it) or whatever.
- Anyone else experienced this?
-
- Also in WIN3.1, unstable system occurs very frequently. I have also
- no idea what's going on. Manual did not have anything on it. But
- that is another problem to be dealt with later...
-
- I appreciate any help given.
-
-
- In my config.sys, I have got the typical settings...
-
- device=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
- devicehigh=c:\windows\emm386.exe noems
- shell=c:\command.com c:\ /e:700 /p
- dos=high,umb
- files=50
- buffers=30
- lastdrive=f
- stack=9,256
- devicehigh=C:\utils\MODE\FASTBIOS.SYS
- devicehigh=C:\utils\MODE\EANSI.SYS
- devicehigh=c:\utils\mouse\mouse.sys SER 2
-
- NOTE: The present of noems parameter doesn't change anything. EMM386
- could not be conflicting with any other softwares I have.
-
- System: 486/33, 8MB RAM, 2HD/2FD, Sound Blaster Pro, Tseng SVGA.
-
- Thanks.
