- I have a COMPAQ 386/25 with a 1988 era BIOS. It has a 1.44 floppy
- installed which ran fine. Then I changed the battery for the CMOS,
- which destroyed the CMOS contents. I then ran the COMPAQ Setup program
- ver 6.2 to let it know the C: drive exists, etc. However, setup auto-
- detects the 1.44 as a 1.2 MB floppy, and won't let me manually change it.
- The only response I get from the dealers is 'spend a$110 or so
- on a new BIOS. Probably a good idea, but it's not my machine. I'd
- prefer to do what was done previously, to fool the BIOS into thinking
- there is a 1.44 floppy (as was presumably was done before). Any help,
- pointers, or setup software would be greatly appreciated.

- PS. The machine owner is out of the country for a few months, so I'm
- out of luck getting info from him.
