- markh@csd4.csd.uwm.edu (Mark William Hopkins) has posted the following:
-
- comp.archives from comp.sys.intel in May:
- =========================================
-
- Archive-name: auto/comp.sys.intel/Free-8051-software-available-by-FTP
-
- A while back I mentioned the availability of some 8051 related software by
- E-mail. You can now access it by anonymous ftp at csd4.csd.uwm.edu, in the
- directory /pub/8051. Also in /pub, the entire contents of the 8051 directory
- have been packaged as 8051.zip.
-
- I've packaged the following items:
-
- C source for 8051 Disassembler. Reads input in Intel Hex format.
- Arbitrary Precision Arithmetic library for unsigned integers
- including Multiplication, Division, Square Root
- Rudimentary Debugger
- needs client software at the host in order to be useable.
- PC-based COM software for RS-232, RS-422, RS-485.
- 8 bit mode, 9 bit mode, baud rates up to 57600.
- A stripped-down Multitasking Kernel, with 8051 demo software for:
- Serial Communications
- Intel Hex download
- CRC Check Summing Demo
- Interrupt Input Processing, for the 8051FA.
- LCD Display/Keypad Input library
- Open-loop Stepper Motor Driver
- Pulse Counting/Data Collection
- elaborate multi-tasking control used to concurrently
- process the 6 timer-capture interrupts of the 8051FA
-
- In addition, I'd be interested in hearing any input you may have on what
- you'd like to see in an assembler. I'm looking for good suggestions to
- include in the assembler before I finish it.
-
- and a snippet from comp.sys.intel in July:
- ==========================================
-
- Also some advance notice: there WILL be a (almost) full-featured 1-pass 8051
- assembler and linker released in the public domain in the archive at
- csd4.csd.uwn.edu in /pub/8051 on August 1 or sooner.
