- I've just bought a new IDE hard drive but I am having a few troubles getting
- my system to recognise it. From what I can tell, I should just plug it in,
- tell bios what it is and then format it - bingo, one new HDD. The problem is
- I don't know how to tell BIOS what it is. It is a type 47 drive which means
- I set the parameters myself but this is the problem, I can't work out how to
- change these options. I can change it to type 47 but I cannot set the no. of
- tracks etc. At boot up the BIOS says :
- 386sx/82335 Modular BIOS Version 3.04(P24) #408D9.5
- If you know anything about this Award BIOS and how to change this or even how
- to contact Award Software Inc. I would be eternally grateful.
-
- ps. If you know how to set a different Award BIOS it may be the same so any
- information is gratefully accepted.
