- I have bought a computer which has a DAT backup tape (Archive ST 2000) with
- it. The computer is a Tandon 486e/50 (EISA) with an Adaptec 1540B SCSI
- controller. Unfortunately there is no documentation with the computer.
-
- When I load a tape into the DAT drive, it rewinds it to the beginning and
- then starts reading it. After a couple of seconds it stops and the the red
- LED on the front (which is constantly on during tape access) starts to
- flash. Software such as SCSICNTL and syplus report that that there is a
- media load/eject error.
-
- Can someone shed any light on the matter. Is it anything to do with the
- jumpers or connectors on the back? or is it just tape formatting?
-
- Any help would be much appreciated.
