- I can't seem to be able to do this ... and it's getting quite frustrating.
-
- I've installed the drive and controller into a 386 with an AMI bios. I've
- identified the drive parameters and set them accordingly in the CMOS
- settings (using type 47 - user defined). I keep getting 'drive error' on
- bootup. If I choose a drive type that has the same number of heads but less
- cylinders and sectors it boots up fine and I'm able to format it. Problem
- is, it's a 150MB drive (162MB unformatted) and I'm not about to settle for
- the 102MB that I'm getting. There's gotta be a better way!
-
- Help would be muchly appreciated.
