- I just got a new modem for my PC and a really strange thing happens:
- About 40% of the time that I use my modem, my video display goes bonkers
- -- the colors get warped, text in dos gets blurry (seems like the
- resolution drops), windows in Windows 3.1 flicker like crazy. Or
- sometimes my display just goes blank. I need to cold boot to fix the
- problem, CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't fix it. The display goes bad either as
- soon as the modem dials, hangs up, or when I exit the terminal program.
- Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
-
- Here's my setup:
-
- V-COM 486 DX50/2
- Local Bus Video GA-200 with ET4000 chips, 1 MB ram
- Adtech Perfect DataFax 2400 modem w/ v.42bis
-
- I have the modem set to COM2, my mouse set to COM1.
-
- Thanks!
