  11. I just got a new modem for my PC and a really strange thing happens:
  12. About 40% of the time that I use my modem, my video display goes bonkers
  13. -- the colors get warped, text in dos gets blurry (seems like the
  14. resolution drops), windows in Windows 3.1 flicker like crazy.  Or
  15. sometimes my display just goes blank.  I need to cold boot to fix the
  16. problem, CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't fix it.  The display goes bad either as
  17. soon as the modem dials, hangs up, or when I exit the terminal program. 
  18. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

  23. Local Bus Video GA-200 with ET4000 chips, 1 MB ram
  24. Adtech Perfect DataFax 2400 modem w/ v.42bis

  26. I have the modem set to COM2, my mouse set to COM1.
