  12. Two questions for you:

  14. 1) I own a 486 50mhz, 8 meg 70 ns memory, etc. etc. It IS a Dx. For the
  15.     last 3 quarters of a year, it hasn't given me ANY trouble. However,
  16.     recently, it has been acting up. The following message appears on
  17.     the screen:
  18.             ON BOARD PARITY ERROR
  19.             ADDR (hex) = (1000:A172)
  20.             SYSTEM HALTED
  21.  
  22.     Sometimes it appears as:
  23.  
  24.             ON BOARD PARITY ERROR = ????
  25.  
  26.     The problem is random, and does not appear to be heat/humidity
  27.     related (as I installed a heat sink AND a second fan).
  28.     Any ideas as to what my next step should be?

  30. 2) My girlfriend owns a 386Dx 25mhz. Recently, for no reason, she
  31.     turns on the computer and it gives 4 consequtive beeps and
  32.     fails to boot/activate screen/present any message at all?
  33.     Any ideas on this beast?

  35. And  no, the computers are not related, and have not transmitted any
  36.     viruses to each other! ;-)
