- A friend of mine is going to Japan to work for a year or so, and wants
- to take his PC with him. According to the reference books he has, Japan
- uses 100V (not 117) and 50 Hz in Tokyo and "the eastern parts", and 60Hz
- in Nagoya, Kyoto, and Osaka (the west?). The plugs are identical to
- north-american ones (two flat prongs).

- The question is, will the Power supply be OK with this? Does it depend
- on number of add-in cards, type of power supply, etc?

- Also, any suggestions on safely shipping a PC and monitor to Japan would
- be appreciated.
