- I just bought a no name 486DX motherboard and replaced it with my
- original IBM AT 286 motherboard. To my surprise eveything went well.
- I haden't expected the upgrade to be without a problem, since
- IBM hardware isn't always as compatible as IBM clones :-)
- Even the original Drive Controller funktions (allthough I had
- to modify the pin connectors). The only hassle I had, was to
- install a reset button and a turbo switch, which are not present
- on a 286AT3.

- I didn't want to spent a lot of money for the upgrade cause I
- wasn't sure the upgrade would work. My expenses for the 486: 600 $!

- So you see, you shouldn't have any problems, except that you'll
- probably need to buy SIMMs for the new board.
