  19. Get an American Power Conversion Back-UPS 450.  This is a very high quality
  20. unit, very reliable, UL approved (unlike some Tripp-Lite models), and is
  21. not expensive ( $189 in Computer Shopper).  This is a quasi-square unit,
  22. which is fine for computer switching power supplies, has built-in line
  23. filtering, looks good, etc.

  25. If you really want sine-wave, APC has the Smart-UPS 450, but this will
  26. cost more (around $399) and is not really necessary, although the unit
  27. is flat (fits under the monitor) and acts like a power director.  It
  28. also has a serial port that you can hook up to your computer to see
  29. whats going on with the power line and to control the UPS.
