- |
- | The 525 MB capacity is with compression. The uncompressed size is 300
- | MB or so (I forget exactly).
-
- This is wrong. The 525MB capacity is /not/ with compression. At its
- highest density, the drive will get 525MB onto a DC6525 cartridge, and
- 320MB on a DC6320 cartridge. I've written over 500MB of uncompressable
- data on a DC6525 cart with room left over.

- |
- | It is a QIC-150 capable drive, which means that it ought to be able to
- | read anything readable with that standard (250MB/150MB) drive.
-
- It will read /or/ write 150MB and 250MB carts. It will only read 60MB
- carts. Density is determined automatically.

- |
- | I can't speak directly to the others, but I've spoken with Dell and
- | they definitely support the Wangtek 5525 SCSI tape. I would think
- | that the QIC-150 SCSI drivers should be available in practically any
- | UNIX.
-
- It works fine with ESIX 4.0.3A as well.
-
- | > 4) Does it work reliably with the Adaptec 1542B?
-
- Yes, modulo any device driver bugs. I've seen some minor nits with
- ESIX 4.0.3A (interupting a read on the non-rewind device occastionally
- creates a hung process, although the drive remains accessable).

-
- I got mine from DC Drives for $829. They advertise in Computer Shopper.
