- In addition to the motherboard you will need to get new memory. Most
- motherboards come without any memory, and the memory from your 286
- will be too slow. Plus, most 386 motherboards require SIMs or SIPs
- for memory, while most 286s use DIP memory. Otherwise, all the boards
- in your 286 system should work in the 386.
