- I'm affaid that your going to get more bad report than good ones becuase
- the "good" people don't usually stand up to be counted. But here is a good one!
-
- The first thing I bought from UnderWare was a PaperWhite TTL monitor
- for use with the EGA card I had bought for my first AT building attempt. Before
- buying the equipment, I asked if it would work with the card I had. They told
- me no problem. Of course it was "cheap" but the monitor still works AND it was
- brand new. No problems.
- The second item I purchase from them was a 72M/105M MFM/RLL FH Imprism
- HardDrive with an RLL ctrlr card. After getting it, I couldn't get the card to
- work with my machine... I called TECH support and they help me decide that it
- was the Card that was doing it. Mainly because I had a MFM that work well with
- the Machine-drive... I sent the bugger back to them, and the sent a replacement
- back promptly. Got it back, put it in, found out that my Video ShadowRom option
- in the AT setup was conflicting with the CTRLR card. Not a problem of UWE. So,
- After many mths of putting up this the anoying 30sec delay in POST, I called
-
- UWE to tell them of the problem so that they could tell other customers if they
- had a simular problem... I STILL use this drive to this day! 6mths later started
- having squeaking noises after the warrenty had run out, The Tech support helped
- me and told my that the problem was most likely dirt in the metal contacts of
- drive. Told me if I felt like it to remove the various peices and clean the
- area with a Q-tip, achohol, and put some fine grade oil on the spot. Now every
- 6mths or so I have to remove the drive and clean it... Same for the PW supply
- fan...
-
- In short {To late} I would HIGHLY recommend them. I will continue to buy from
- them in the future.
