- I am contemplating selling my Epson FX-286 printer. (It is a VERY solid
- 9pin NLQ wide carriage printer - but I've only used paper wider than 8.5
- inches once or twice and it takes up too much room.)
-
- I am thinking about either the LQ-570 which is Epson's 80 column 24pin
- printer with scalable fonts, or the Action Printer 3220 which is also 24pin
- with scalable fonts.
-
- The LQ has multiple paper paths and more built-in typefaces and can handle
- single feed paper and envelopes along with pin feed.
-
- The Action Printer has fewer built-in typefaces and paper paths, but has a
- 50 sheet cut paper bin included and can stand on end to take up less real
- estate. With the optional push tractor it can also use pin feed paper.
-
- With the AP's tractor, the price is about the same for each printer. Has
- anyone used either (or both) of these printers, and can you tell me what
- you liked or disliked about one or both? Is current software supporting
- the scalable fonts (especially non-Window stuff)?
