- I have (or actually.. have ordered and not yet received) a Gateway 200
- Telepath 14.4kbps modem. I *do* have the manual, which specifies a
- Parallel 16C450 UART interface. Now, I know that modems use serial
- ports, but I am quoting out of literature that was sent to me. What is
- this 16C450 Uart, and is it going to affect data communications at
- speeds like 9600 or 14,400 bps because it is not a 16550? Being used
- under either Windows 3.1 or DOS 5.0? (I'm planning on using it under
- both). And what, if anyone can elucidate, is the "C" in the middle of
- 16C450?
