  29. My guess is that you're running very unintelligent software whose
  30. author has never heard of a magical RS-pin called "Carrier Detect".
  31. Though I can't really believe somebody would make his/her terminal
  32. software drop DTR just because of a "NO CARRIER" string... (Or
  33. whatever it does, I can't really make it out of your text. Usually
  34. any hosting UNIX or BBS should also detect loss of carrier.)

  36. In my opinion no terminal or modem should care anything about the
  37. character stream with two exceptions; VTxxx/ANSI control codes,
  38. and Zmodem download strings (for the lazy). Unless, of course, there
  39. will be some new universal Usenet code set to insert special effects
  40. into your postings.
